Javier Pons has been promoted to chief content officer and head of Telemundo Studios, the production arm of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.
Pons, who formerly served as executive VP at Telemundo Studios starting in 2024, reports in his new position to Telemundo chairman Luis Fernandez.
On top of overseeing scripted content, Pons will newly helm Telemundo’s entertainment division, particularly honing in on unscripted content, specials and daily shows.

Pons previously worked as Globomedia’s general director and Mediapro Studio’s head of TV. He co-produced the film “Official Competition” and was a delegate producer for “The Good Boss.” He helped create the series “Nasdrovia,” “The Boarding School: Las Cumbres” and “Mano de hierro.”
“Since his arrival to Telemundo Javier has delivered great results and strengthened Telemundo Studios’ position for the future. I’m excited to see him apply his vast experience in production and media management to his new expanded role as Chief Content Officer,” Fernandez said.
Pons has also been part of the creation of the series “Tengo Una Pregunta para Usted,” “Ninja Warrior” and “El Juego de los Anillos.” He has an information sciences degree from the Universitat Autónomade Barcelona and is an Association of Journalists of Catalonia member.
