Staff go the extra mile – literally- raising £50,000 so far for children living with serious illness and disadvantage

The Big Table Group, one of the UK’s leading hospitality businesses, is proud to mark National Children’s Day on Sunday 18 May with a series of bold and inspiring fundraising events in support of its new charity partner, Dreams Come True.

The partnership, launched earlier this year, supports the UK’s only national wish-granting charity dedicated to helping children with serious illnesses, disabilities or life-limiting conditions who are also living in the highest areas of deprivation.

Since the start of 2025, teams across The Big Table Group’s brands including Bella Italia, Las Iguanas, Banana Tree, Frankie & Benny’s, and Chiquito have come together with passion and purpose to raise an incredible £50,000 and counting.

To celebrate National Children’s Day and continue their mission to be #dreammakers, staff across the Group have thrown themselves into a diverse range of high-energy challenges and community events.

From running half marathons and completing Tough Mudders to scaling Ben Nevis and Snowdon, skydiving, bungee jumping, abseiling, and even taking part in charity haircuts, the team’s creativity and commitment know no bounds. Others have taken to bikes, picked litter in local communities, and gone the extra mile to raise awareness and funds.

With more than 220 restaurants across the UK and over 5,000 team members, The Big Table Group has embraced this partnership not just as a fundraising initiative, but as a heartfelt mission to help children who face unimaginable challenges enjoy unforgettable moments.

Alan Morgan, CEO of The Big Table Group, said: “National Children’s Day gives us a powerful opportunity to reflect on what really matters and for us, that’s making a meaningful difference to children who need support the most. We’re incredibly proud of our teams who are climbing mountains, running marathons, and jumping out of planes, all to help deliver dreams. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a record-breaking year of impact.”

Lisa King, OBE, CEO of Dreams Come True, added: “What The Big Table Group has already achieved is nothing short of phenomenal. Every pound raised goes towards creating magical, lasting memories for children who have it tougher than most. Their teams’ dedication and energy are helping us reach more children in the most deprived communities, delivering joy where it’s needed most. We’re deeply thankful and excited about what’s still to come.”

Dreams Come True delivers tailored, life-enhancing experiences for children aged 5-18, ensuring every dream is rooted in what each individual child truly needs or wishes for. From access to specialist equipment to once-in-a-lifetime family experiences, every dream is designed to bring happiness, hope and long-term positive impact.

The partnership continues throughout 2025, with in-restaurant activities, customer campaigns and national fundraising events planned to keep momentum high and dreams within reach for even more children across the UK.

The Big Table Group welcomes customers, communities and partners to join the cause, be part of the movement, and help make dreams come true.
