Soil Association Certification has announced the finalists of the 2025 BOOM (Best of Organic Market) Awards, in partnership with Ocado Retail. The awards honour the brands, organisations and people behind the UK’s organic industry.

Each entry has been independently and enthusiastically judged by an esteemed panel of experts, including blind-tasting hundreds of organic food and drink products. Over 400 entries have now been narrowed down to only 126 finalists.

The finalists cover the full spectrum of the organic sector, including food, drink, beauty and wellbeing, and fashion and textiles products, alongside six ‘Organic For All’ awards which recognise the inspiring people and organisations working to make organic more accessible to all.

The finalists are being announced at a time when the UK organic market has shown exceptional growth and is significantly outperforming non-organic with the market growing 7.3% in 2024 with total sales of £3.7bn, double what they were just 10 years ago (2014 – £1.86bn) according to Soil Association Certification’s Organic Market Report 2025.

Data for the first quarter of 2025 shows a continuation of the positive momentum, with further volume and value growth. The organic market has seen double-digit growth at 10% over 12 weeks, with unit sales +4.8%.  Over the 52 weeks to 22nd March 2025, the organic market has seen +8.9% value growth and +5.3% unit growth (source: NIQ Scantrack, Total Coverage, Organic Food & Drink category Soil Association defined).

Organic has seen continual growth because it answers consumers’ demands for health and sustainability, particularly with younger Gen Z consumers. Seven out of 10 shoppers say that they intentionally buy organic food and drink 1.

The BOOM Award winners will be announced at the BOOM Awards ceremony on Thursday, 10th July 2025 at Paintworks, Bristol, hosted by TV personality Andy Clarke.

Entry to the awards was free for small businesses2, to support the growth of the organic sector with generous support from sponsors Ocado Retail, English Tea Shop, Abel & Cole, Robin Appel, RB Organic Ltd and Diversified Communications.

As part of the partnership of the awards, Ocado will reveal the winner of the Ocado Roots Award at the ceremony. This accolade comes with exclusive access to the retailer’s challenger brand accelerator programme.

Soil Association Certification Commercial & Marketing Director, Georgia Phillips says “We are delighted to announce the finalists and celebrate some of the best of organic products on the market, all produced in a way that works with nature, not against it.

“The judges and I were so inspired by each of the Organic For All entrants with these groups, organisations and individuals making a real difference in their communities. All of the finalists deserve recognition for their incredible work.”

Simon Hinks, Product Director for Ocado Retail, says: “Partnering with Soil Association Certification is invaluable for Ocado as we work to grow the organic market and support the future of sustainable food production.

“As a retailer that over-trades in organic, we recognise the importance of securing a robust and growing pool of organic suppliers.

“We would like to extend our congratulations to all the finalists of this year’s BOOM Awards. We were impressed by the calibre of entrants to the Ocado Roots award and look forward to revealing the winner on the night!”
