New insights reveal that searches for “deep plane facelift” reached an all-time high in June 2025, spiking 1900% compared to their usual volume.

The analysis of data by the go-to booking app for beauty and wellness, Fresha, reveals that as more celebrities opt for advanced cosmetic procedures like the deep plane facelift, it’s important for the public to also understand the risks, costs, and long-term implications. A deep plane facelift is an extremely invasive and extensive facial rejuvenation procedure, as it lifts deeper facial tissues and muscles compared to traditional facelifts.

The most recent transformation being Kris Jenner’s, who published a number of carousels of pictures from April 17 onwards, which led to people in the comments wondering how she appears to have turned back the clock overnight. And while some fans also applauded her transformation, beauty experts are urging a more measured response: admiration should not turn into aspiration at any cost.

UK-based plastic surgeon Dr. Jonny Betteridge, in a May 17 Instagram post, analyzed Jenner’s pictures, suggesting that this is likely what Kris Jenner opted for, among other procedures, hence the noticeable difference that has stunned the internet.

But before booking a consultation in a quest to rewind the clock, experts at Fresha strongly advise taking several precautions.

Consult a board-certified specialist

While this may sound obvious, some might be tempted to bypass this step in favor of lower costs or convenience. As already mentioned, deep plane facelifts are extremely invasive, meaning that only board-certified facial plastic surgeons should perform them, as mistakes in this delicate area can result in asymmetry, nerve damage, or disappointing results.

Don’t let the cost be the deciding factor

Plastic surgery is expensive, but this also reflects the quality of care provided. A procedure such as this usually ranges between $18,000 and $40,000, depending on the surgeon and location. While tempting offers from less experienced providers might be available for lower prices, this is not a risk worth taking, considering the magnitude of the treatment.

Recovery takes time

Even the best facelifts can take weeks to months to fully reveal themselves. Swelling, bruising, and tightness are all part of the healing journey, and what we have seen on Kris Jenner’s Instagram is likely the result of a carefully timed debut, not an overnight miracle. You’ll need to be patient and plan for downtime.

The emotional impact can be significant

While cosmetic surgery is mostly done to boost confidence, it can also bring stress if expectations aren’t aligned with reality. Remember that what you’ll see in the mirror after such a procedure might leave you disoriented at first, and to avoid regretting any important decision, it is recommended to undergo a psychological assessment before major facial surgery.

Fillers and injectables offer a more accessible alternative

Injectables and fillers are a less invasive, more cost-effective option that could help you achieve similar results. Minor procedures such as these can also be a test drive to understand if such treatments are for you.

While injectables, like Botox, temporarily paralyze muscles to reduce wrinkles caused by facial movements, fillers add volume to areas with lost elasticity, smoothing lines and creases, and enhancing facial contours.

A spokesperson for Fresha said, “Seeing the results that Kris has obtained from this procedure, it’s understandable that people are fascinated by her new appearance. However, we urge caution and to avoid pursuing surgery impulsively or under pressure.

The most successful outcomes are more likely to happen when patients take the time to research, consult multiple professionals, and set realistic goals.”
